I moved to Canada to live with my Canadian spouse 5 and a half years ago.

Part of the decision to move to Edmonton (rather than for him to move to the States) was how much he loved his apartment at The Elmhurst. I fell in love with it too, and here I am years later.
When we outgrew the apartment we were in, we were lucky enough to find another, larger suite in the same building. We needed more space, but really didn't want to live anywhere else, so we moved a few floors up instead of to another building.
We now have a larger 2-bedroom unit. The living room is open, bright, airy, and spacious. The bedrooms are big enough to accommodate our California King bed (plus two dressers and a wardrobe) in the larger bedroom and a studio/office in the other. Our unit had been remodelled shortly before we moved into it, and everything feels fresh and new, including the bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances and cabinets. Having two balconies with lovely views makes me happy every day.
The building is family-owned, which I love. (This was a HUGE factor in deciding to stay in the building when we needed to move.) When we have a question or issue, we know it'll be handled quickly, and we can talk to a person about it right away. Luckily, issues have been few and far between (the occasional leaky faucet, sticky door, running toilet, etc.), but when they happen, we can report the issue online (LOVE this) or by phone or in person. Someone comes to take care of it--usually the very next day!
The lobby was redecorated a year or two ago, and now I always feel very fancy while I wait for the elevator. It's a modern, classic look. (I adore the light fixtures!) And there's always soft music playing, which feels so welcoming.
The entrance-way is very well kept up. Beautiful flower arrangements shift with the season, and the front walk is re-sealed regularly. In the winter, they regularly salt and snowblow the walk (and plow the parking lot) and also provide a bucket of salt for residents to sprinkle as needed.
The location is fantastic. Just off the river valley, and a short walk from the Legislature Building area (I walk to work year-round). Groceries, pharmacies, oodles of restaurants, and most anything else you need are just a stone's throw away.
I swear I'm not a shill for the building. It's just that I'm a writer, so I tend to go on, especially when I'm excited about something.

Being a tenant for 6 years, starting with Apartment X, my friend and I took over this place, renovated
with great appliances and great storage. Updated bathroom and kitchen. It was modern with great
spaces. It really felt like my home! Four years later I then took my own place one floor down. It
was a beautiful brick wall with more that enough space for storage and room for a one bedroom. The
building is maintained and updated with renovations constantly! Gillian is a wonderful human being and
lovely! Vaughn has nothing but outstanding person and generous. The staff has been such kind people!
With great amenities such as power, water and heat all included it is no question to staff here for as long
as I could. I absolutely love the home a built here and the memories I will always have!
PS it smells so nice every morning with Arno’s Cafe baking their tasty pastries every day

I have had the best experience living at the elmhurst for over 2 years now. One of the big reason I have
stayed is because the staff is so friendly, and available. I really count myself lucky to be able to live in
such an awesome building with real people who always make sure it’s well managed and kept. Not to
mention my place is beautiful and so well renovated. I always get compliments from friends and it’s
really well done. I would 100% recommend the elmhurst, great location, great people, and amazing
living.

I been living in the Edmonton downtown core for fifteen years and Elmhurst apartments has been the
best place I ever lived! The staff are amazingly nice and very helpful for any of your needs. Building is
always clean and sanitized. The suites are great priced and are designer renovated with brick walls
which is a great touch for a loft feel. Would highly recommend this apartment building if looking for a
place called home.

Wonderful place to live. Building is kept immaculate (lobby is being cleaned every morning when I leave
for work, front of building is very trendy and tidy). Management takes a lot of pride in their building and
its obvious with how responsive they are to their tenants. Very professional and reasonable owners to
deal with. My suite itself was lovely- clean, modern paint and bathroom renos, bright and spacious. My
suite had two south facing balconies with a lovely view of the the river valley. Also, great building
security. I would highly recommend this building.

I rented at the Elmhurst for years and it was by far the best managed property I have ever lived at. The
staff are so friendly. I found the building and other tenants to be quiet and respectful. The only reason I
moved was because I purchased a property, or I would have continued to rent here.

I lived in the Elmhurst apartments for several years. All staff were very kind and helpful whenever we had a maintenance concern and things were taken care of in a timely manner. I really appreciated the extras - they cleaned the lobby daily, and always had seasonal floral arrangements outside the building, and chocolate in the lobby on holidays. Management always did a great job notifying us of snow removal and other things that impacted everyone in the building. The building is in a great location near many amenities. Thanks Elmhurst :)
